What you know?

Advanced learners like you, often need different ways of understanding a topic. Reading is just one way of understanding. Another way is through writing about what you have read.  The enclosed assessment is designed to get you to think more about the concepts taught in this session.

  1. Who was Gantt and what did he contribute to scheduling activities?
  2. Which organization developed the critical path method and why?
  3. What do the initials PMI stand for and what is the name of the book it created?
  4. What makes 21st century project management different from management of historic projects such as the Pyramids?

Please send an email to your instructor with your responses to the above questions.    Make sure that the email subject line includes the course number, topic name and your name, otherwise it will not get to the right place.  If you wish to receive a receipt that the instructor has received your email, you may request the receipt from your email program.  Please respond to all of the questions within the same email.  Do not attach any files.  Keep a copy of all your emails to the instructor till the end of the semester.  Email

Rapid Analysis

  1. Email your progress in meeting the professional activity requirement.  Describe when will you meet the requirement and how.  Indicate what progress have you made in meeting the requirement.

  2. Describe why your personal project is important to you.  Describe the initial scope of the project (i.e. list the tasks that need to be done to accomplish the project).  List who and when decisions will be made to change the scope of the project (e.g. if 2 weeks into the project you find that you have forgotten to include an important task, what steps you will take before it is included in the project).

  3. State the business case for your EHR or improvement project implementation.  Provide data that the problem exists and is important for the organization to resolve.  Provide a customer's voice, e.g. a quote, reinforcing the business case for your project.  Describe plans for how you will prepare media that will derive home the importance of the project.

  4. Draft the paragraph structure of your tutorial paper.  Plan out the images that are necessary to make your point easily understood and describe these plans.

Please send one email containing the answer to all questions to your instructor.    Copy and paste each question into the document.  Once done with the preparation of your response document, paste the entire document within your email.  Do not attach any files.  Make sure that the email subject line includes the course number, topic name and your name, otherwise it may not get to the right place.    Email►
