What you know?

Advanced learners like you, often need different ways of understanding a topic. Reading is just one way of understanding. Another way is through writing about what you have read.  The enclosed assessment is designed to get you to think more about the concepts taught in this session.

  1. Does implementing Portfolio Project Management make projects more on time and under budget?
  2. What were the three stages of adoption of portfolio project management and did these stages make a difference in rate of projects finishing on time?

Respond in an email to your instructor.  Email►

Rapid Analysis

  1. In an Activity Based Cost study of a project, we need to estimate the monthly cost of equipment.  We know that the equipment was purchased for $100,000 and it costs $15,000 per year to maintain.  If the equipment's life cycle is 5 years, what is the total monthly cost of the equipment?  In this problem assume a 6% interest rate.

  2. If the cost and benefits of an EHR are indicated as below, then calculate the rate of return on the investment for the electronic health record (assume a 8% opportunity cost for projects within this organization).
