Advanced learners like you, often need different ways of understanding a topic. Reading is just one way of understanding. Another way is through writing about what you have read.  The enclosed assessment is designed to get you to think more about the concepts taught in this session. 

  1. What are the steps in the Nominal Group Process?
  2. List, in order of importance to you, 5 skills from Figure 1 that you consider to be most important skills one needs to succeed in teams.  Describe for each skill how you learned it. 
  3. List, in order of importance to you, 3 knowledge items from Figure 1 that you consider to be most important knowledge one needs to succeed in teams.  Describe for each piece of knowledge how you have or plan to gain the knowledge. 
  4. List the top 3 most important traits and motives that one should look for an ideal team member.  Discuss if people are born with these traits and motives or training matters.   If training matters how will you train a student in management to have the traits and motives that you think are important.
  5. List the steps in Integrative Group Process. 
  6. Should a project manager focus on formal organization communications as rumors and informal communications are not really helpful in getting a task done?  Give your reason.
