n     Charge Nurse on night shift on a large post-surgical unit

Staff Nurse Medical Unit 1977-1978

n     Team nursing approach, direct responsibility for 16 patients

 

Staff Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) 1978-1980

§         Responsible for the care of 1-2 critical patients including surgical, medical and neurological conditions.

 

Charge Nurse Intensive Care Unit 1980-1985

§         Responsible for clinical and non-clinical operations of an 8 bed critical care unit including education, patient care, staffing

 

Weekend Nursing Supervisor 1982-1985

§         Weekend Hospital Nursing Supervisor while also working ICU. This included shift staffing, administrative responsibility for the hospital, bed control.

§         Week-end Nursing Supervisor for the 120 bed hospital.

§         Duties included administrative responsibility for the hospital, staffing and the care and safety of the patient and employee population

Charge Nurse Medical-Surgical Unit 1999-2001

§         Duties included staffing and day to day management of patient care, education of new employees.

 

Interim Director of the Medical Surgical Unit (MSU) 2001-2002

§         Responsible for the total operation of the MSU

§         Financial, clinical and non-clinical operation of the MSU.
