I am a physician and Full Professor at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, Egypt. I am currently working with the VistA Imaging Project, Department of Veterans Affairs, USA. and Professor Adjunct George Mason University, Department of Health Administration and Policy, College of Health and Human Services. I was previously a visiting faculty at the University of Maryland, College Park MD (UMCP). I have more than fifteen years of international experience in the USA, Egypt, and Kuwait in managing the implementation of complex medical information systems that need to meet the strictest standards of quality and reliability and to be used as a foundation of for quality health care delivery and public health services.
I have been particularly involved in customizing information systems originally developed in the USA for use in different environments in the Middle East. I worked with several international organization projects like WHO, U.S. AID and U.N. development program (UNDP) projects. I have also been involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching, masters and PhD research supervision.
Moreover, I worked in the area of Cancer Registration, Epidemiology, and Education. I headed the Kuwait National Cancer Registry and Developed the Kuwait first and Second National Cancer Reports and Website.
